The Chairman, Mr Wilfred Kimotho addressing issues related to PSV transport within the country at Ziwa TV.

Among the things he addressed are;

  • Adherence to the set rules in regard to over-speeding and proposes for the installation of speed cameras on our highways since the speed governors are continuously being tampered with.
  • There should be a professional school set by the government where drivers should enroll for refresher and defensive training courses.
  • The government should involve stakeholders in the matatu industries when making decisions related to the transport sector.
  • Matatu drivers are very crucial in this industry, and they should be guided, protected and recognized.

The society was registered as a transport SACCO in 1992 with a total membership of 40 drawn from the then disbanded Matatu Owners Association. Currently, the membership stands at 500 members.
